Battle of Brown Paint, Cont.
The Battle of Brown Paint began in June and is continuing well into the Fall. There must have been a BOGO sale on this stuff because it is everywhere. And it is ugly.
The saddest part is that under the Brown Paint (BP), there is beautiful stained wood that has been silenced for too long. So little by little, we're scraping it away. I've been using Citri-Strip stripping gel, which goes on nicely with a paint brush, let it sit for 30 minutes, then scrape away. Brillo pads lift excess paint nicely, but everything still requires some hand sanding to get the divots and details cleared out.
I don't imagine this project will be done anytime soon. Here's hoping the effort is worth the impact.
